Basilica di San Lorenzo, Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana and Galleria dell'Accademia
Watch this slideshow full screen.
Today's itinerary included a guided tour of the Basilica di San Lorenzo, designed by Brunelleschi and illustrating classical Renaissance style. Next were the Medici Chapels with the New Sacristy including the statues of Day, Night, Dawn and Dusk, by Michelangelo. After a wonderful Tuscan lunch we finished the day off with hands-on tour to the Laurentian library which was also designed by Michelangelo and contains some of the most ancient and rare manuscripts available to study. To finish the day we paid a visit to Michelangelo's David in the Galleria dell'Accademia.
